The pH Riddle

pH is a handy indicator of bioenergy and body voltage from the proton’s point of view.

When a person feels unwell, he usually goes to a doctor and wants a diagnosis… and specific treatment. Conventional medicine assigns a unique title to the set of symptoms, but fails to correlate the common clinical signs of systemic inflammation and address the problem at its core. All chronic “diseases” involve inflammation (oxidative stress); everything from arthritis, asthma, auto-immune and Alzheimer’s to diabetes, cancers and heart attack. If you have High CRP(C-reactive protein)/white cell count/blood pressure/blood sugar/uric acid/HDL/ferritin/homocysteine…or pain, depression, infections, allergies and digestive problems…Guess what? YOU GOT INFLAMMATION! Find its source conditions and reverse them.

To understand the workings of the human body, one must revisit three physio-chemical principles.

1) All cells run on energy, mainly in the form of ATP electrons.

2) On the other hand; leukocytes, phages and immune defense rely on electron-ripping oxidation (and proteolytic enzymes).

3) pH gauges the balance between electrons and protons which reflects the body’s charge environment (oxidation-reduction potential, ORP) which indicates bioenergy levels, cell function, enzyme production and immune strength… as well as its ability to resist oxidative stress and inflammation.

pH can be used to infer electron populations from the proton’s point of view.

pH is a useful measure!

pH is the logarithmic scale of positively charged protons (hydrogen ion concentration)…”A look at electron populations from the proton’s point of view.”

Pure water at pH 7 is neutral.

Below pH 7; protons/acidity increase— (as electrons/alkalinity decrease)– by powers of 10 toward one.

Above pH 7; protons/acidity decrease— (as electrons/alkalinity increase)– by powers of 10 toward fourteen.

Internal pH can be approximated using saliva or urine with test strips or meters.

Electron populations in the healthy range register a pH of 7.4 and voltage above 40 millivolts.

At a healthy pH of 7.4; electrons, chemical bonds and oxygen survive.

· Blood viscosity, RBC clumping and blood pressure decrease so circulation improves, oxygen and nutrients are delivered efficiently, the workload on the heart is lessened, ATP output is optimal and pathogens are discouraged. Cells are supplied with fuel and nutrients, metabolic acids are neutralized by plentiful oxygen and cell molecules are protected and preserved.

When acidic protons build pH drops below 7.4;

· Free radicals have free reign, cells and immune response lose energy, DNA/RNA lose expression and enzyme output falters, mitochondria sustain damage, circulation and transport slow, blood vessels are eroded and scarred, gums bleed and every membrane and cell structure becomes prone to destruction. Eventually genetic material is damaged and telomeres shorten; chronic diseases and rapid ageing follow.

Unwanted free radicals generated by metals/toxins/radiations literally rip organic molecules apart by stealing the electrons from the bonds that hold them intact. An immune response operates on the same principle. H2O2 and Reactive Oxygen Species— ROS, violently oxidize pathogens, defective cells, cancers and breakdown organic debris; a good thing as long as the body-charge reservoir can contain the destruction. As pH drops, body charge falters so free radicals and the fires of immune defense can spread and do unwanted damage. Chronic disease and premature ageing both occur under a climate of electron scarcity; inflammation!

Raise pH/Raise bioenergy:

· Breathing alone tightly regulates pH, but there’s more to the story…

· Improve metabolism so fuel delivery to mitochondria does NOT exceed oxygen penetration…This means NOT flooding the system with rapidly absorbed processed sugary foods, vegetable oils and high proportions of protein which overtake the availability of oxygen to neutralize electron-gobbling acids. pH balancing diets have been around for years and this is the real reason they are effective.Peruse tables of alkalizing/acid forming foods.

· Many wise physicians speak to the key importance of sluggish circulation in chronic disease. We become painfully aware of lactic acid buildup in tired muscles. After we breathe enough O2 to turn that lactic acid back into lactate, the pain disappears. The same process occurs un-noticeably in mitochondria 24/7 until enough O2 arrives to neutralize lactic/uric acid backlogs. Blood flow and oxygen delivery are charge dependent!

· Optimize levels and ratios of pH buffering electrolytes like magnesium, potassium, calcium, bicarbonates…

· Increase: intake of phyto-antioxidants/polyphenols/fibrous vegetation, earthing, sunshine, breath work, exercise, sleep, fasting, community support and sense of purpose. Emotional stability minimizes acidic stress, sympathetic fight/flight activation and the overproduction of cortisol. Nervous hyper-breathing reduces O2 delivery.

· Vigorous circulation, oxygen delivery and waste removal are vitally important (think of cells as fish in an aquarium) and depend on well charged electron-rich alkaline blood and fluids. Cancers and other conditions thrive under stagnant hypoxic acidic conditions (Warburg) where voltage drops below 20-25mv and where protons turn oxygen to water. When acidity is reduced allowing voltage to exceed 40mv, a boost in oxygen reverses cancers, infections and other chronic disease. This is how the alkalizing effects of magnesium or sodium bicarbonate, hyperbaric oxygen and Mega C for examples, help cancers revert to aerobic respiration..and vanish.

· Water is the charge matrix cells float in; blood, lymph, and extracellular fluids… Connective tissues are packed with highly conductive structured H2O/H3O2. (Pollack)

· Excessive alkalinity is also problematic and may be due to prescription drugs or vegetarian extremes.

Lowers pH/Decreased bioenergy:

· Fear, stress, poor perception of life, psychological dependence and personal dis-empowerment through socio-cultural-religious-political-consumeristic-media narratives, death consciousness, loneliness, sedentarianism, sun avoidance.

· High glycemic, acid forming, low ORAC diets. Find these food lists to direct healthful choices. Gut flora depend on diet, fiber, antibiotic misuse and the lack of contact with nature, animals and live soil.

· Low grade bacterial/viral/yeast infections, organo-toxins/mycotoxins/bacterial toxins/stray proteins… inhaled, in sinuses/lungs or leaked through gut lining or blood-brain barrier.

· Mineral levels deficient in magnesium, potassium, sulfur, iodine, selenium, zinc, traces. Hair analysis recommended.

· Metal burdens; Aluminum, mercury, cadmium, lead, arsenic, etc. Hair analysis critical. Detox is simple/cheap/effective using Mega C protocol. Check air pollutants, smoking, home, occupational and food sources. Metals are top charge killers and attract pathogens.

· Poorly constructed cell membranes..Vegetable oils, oxidized/trans fats build faulty cell and mitochondrial membranes. A high ratio of Omega 3 to 6 fats and quality saturated fats are essential in fat soluble vitamin absorption, Vitamin D production, membrane construction and metabolize without undue acidity. Fatty cell membranes contribute to the body’s electrical charge.

While wading through countless medical studies and reviewing oxidation-reduction reactions, my focus remained fixed on cell physiology and basic electro-molecular chemistry; electrons, electrical potential, charge separation, structured states of water and the effects of oxidative stress/inflammation on cell membranes, oxygen delivery, metabolism via Krebs/electron transport and the grinding erosion of DNA/RNA function over time.

After successfully applying organic methods to plants and electron-energy principles to animals and humans, the obvious became apparent; most symptoms arise from bio-energy shortages that cause downstream errors in normal physiology. I saw that man-made oxidative stressors like chemical GM grain/feedlot agriculture, deforestation, chemical/mining industries, burning fossil fuels and acid rain were not only ruining human health, but the health of all life forms on the planet. Every avenue and street led to this realization. When symptoms are pigeonholed as unique diseases, we become distracted from declining “climatic” conditions.

The very thought of Vitamin C, along with many other harmless holistic ideas, had long been “forbidden” by the pharma-medical establishment. Why? Is it because they are inexpensive and work at the seed level of first causes? Only when the body is supplied all necessary nutrients, vitamins and minerals, and has toxins/metals/stress removed from the picture can it regenerate and heal.

Overwhelming electro-molecular inputs speed circulation, oxygen delivery and healing to give Mega C universal importance anchoring a protocol including other antioxidative/oxidative therapies, complete vitamin-mineralization, a diet favoring predominantly organic alkaline foods, grass-fed animal products, balanced Omega 3/6 and saturated fats, exercise/sunshine/meditation-stress reduction.

· The rationale for mega-dosing Vitamin C is to force a quantitative shift in equilibria, boost body voltage and reboot cell function.

· A second benefit is the generation of H2O2 in an immune-like oxidative burst that dispatches cancers and pathogens. (PubMed)

· A third reason to use Vitamin C is as a lifesaving metal mobilizer/chelator/detoxifier. It is recommended in doses of at least 2000mg/day for the young and healthy just to tread water and offset daily industrial accumulations. Older? Sick? Increase the therapeutic use to 20-50 GRAMS/day orally to bowel tolerance in divided doses 4-5X/day or every 3hrs. IV infusions may top 150 grams per treatment for infections, viral brain-swells and other critical situations. All Vitamin C dosages are individual, no RDA can determine one’s electron/voltage deficit. Take plenty of pure Vitamin C crystals (l-ascorbic acid) mixed with half as much baking soda. I don’t sell it, it’s cheap in bulk and any excess is harmless and will be quickly eliminated when bowel tolerance is exceeded. It is also recommended to frequently include sulfur rich eggs and vegetables like brassicas/onion/garlic in the diet to boost mitochondria protective glutathione (Jaffe) and ROS killing catalase.

· A fourth major function of Vitamin C is to restore CTs (connective tissues). — Skin, bone, tendon, ligament, intestinal/blood vessel lining and fascia form the major proportion of the human body and house structured water as a chief element of the body battery. Glucosamine, chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, sulfur and silica compounds are usually recommended together with lysine/proline and Vitamin C to maintain and restore CTs; arthritic joints, skin tone and limit spread of tumor cells (Rath)…Or one can simply consume quantities of collagen-rich bone-cartilage broths along with daily Mega C!

Mega-dosing is totally foreign to the conventional idea of Recommended Daily Allowances. Beside Mega C, doses exponentially larger than RDAs have proven effective with charge-building niacin, riboflavin, B-12, CoQ10 and fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K for short periods. Countless medical doctors have ridiculed mega-dosing without understanding the science involved while alternative physicians, here and abroad, have practiced such protocols successfully for decades.

Specific herbs, vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, essential oils, energy applications like electronic and acoustic devices, pulsed lasers and acupuncture, and physical manipulation via chiropractic and deep massage can top-out treatment of specific manifestations. A single practice, dietary change or supplement is rarely the solution. Since every physician has a different approach and emphasis, it is easy to become confused. Instead, an organized protocol based on the principles of maintaining or correcting body charge/pH — simplifies care choices and insures a disease free future.

To stay healthy today, a high degree of spiritual sovereignty, personal responsibility and careful attention to diet, detoxification, lifestyle habits and stress are required. That takes a practiced skill-set of patiently acquiring quality and organic ingredients, scratch cooking and the correct use of supplements to shift body chemistry. Take the time to research seasonal local foods and seek out healthier recipes.

Time alone wears inexorably on genetic instructions and will eventually cripple cell function and result in a terminal chronic condition or two or three…So why speed-up the process?

Placebo, Nocebo; Gaming the Autonomic Nervous System

Deconstructing the Placebo Effect

Maybe the mystery of “miracle” healing is not so mysterious after all. When we look at substances, one never knows whether a powerful belief in a substance or the substance itself is responsible for a result. So endless double-blind studies are conducted to eliminate the joker..the placebo effect. But when we look deeper into the sympathetic/parasympathetic influences of the autonomic nervous system, we may find the “joker is wild” and learn to employ it for a winning hand.

What we do know is that health depends on nutrition, toxicity, lifestyle habits and emotional states where emotional states are the hardest to nail down. We also know that pain, stress, fear, shame, embarrassment, depression and grief can source a negative nocebo effect making healing impossible. We have also found that emotional states can depend on the health of the physical body. What we haven’t completely understood is how to elicit a really real placebo effect and I would argue that parasympathetic activation is the key.

The “Automatic” Nervous System

The sympathetic side of our “automatic” regulatory system is involved in the fight/flight response marked by elevated adrenaline, cortisol, blood pressure, inflammation and organ-damaging oxidative stress. The parasympathetic chain, on the other hand, puts cells and organs in rest/recovery mode, improves DNA expression along with hormone/enzyme production and even protects telomeres. Of the cranial nerves, the vagus (wanderer) seems most influential as it winds its way through heart, lungs, upper GI and the other abdominal organs. Since the balance of oppositional and complementary autonomic functions is generally thought to be beyond conscious control, we tend to ignore it.

Spontaneous remission of incurable diseases happen all the time. Wouldn’t it be sweet to access hardwired neural control centers and add it to a comprehensive protocol? Once nutrition is optimized and mineral levels restored, toxins/metals removed from receptors and membranes, and lifestyle elements tweeked…think sympathetic reduction/parasympathetic activation; extreme relaxation, like a nap in a hammock on a pristine tropical beach.

There are so many ways. A lengthy short list;

Breathe… Start with the many breathing techniques. Try 5 deep even breaths, then hold the 5th for over a minute; much like snorkeling for crab and lobster. Slow diaphragmatic breathing optimizes oxygen penetration, metabolism and pH modulation and has been shown to reduce markers of sympathetic dominance (markers of inflammation). Or look into countless styles of yogic, Buteyko or Qi Gong breathing….A counterintuitive method (lie down on your back, you won’t pass out) involves rapid deep in-out breathing. 15 minutes of “Fire Breath” hyperventilation super alkalizes the system by blowing off CO2, before returning to normal slow deep breathing. Results will amaze.

Cold Water… Splash cold water on the face or try sauna followed by cold immersion, hot/cold showers or eyebright/cayenne eye-drops to boost circulation and refresh autonomic balance. A number of cranial nerves serve the eyes and face. Also think scalp massage.

Music… From Pharrel’s “Happiness” to classical Bach, there’s a healing tune for every taste packed with parasympathetic power. My preference many times are birdsongs, crickets and a breeze through the trees. We know that “noise” raises blood pressure and causes a sympathetic response.

Aromas/Colors… The use of lavender, rosemary and other essential oils is thought to entrain the body’s energy field to their high vibratory frequencies. We know the scent of a wild rose or lilac brings on a smile and warm feelings; a bit of relaxing nostalgia when we slow down and take the time. A scentless patch of brightly colored zinnias has a similar effect; aromatherapy/color therapy obviously drop blood pressure, bring on a wave of relaxation and halt time stress.

Fasting/Intermittent Fasting/TV Fasting… Fasting reduces bio-energy consumption, improves metabolism, lowers all markers of inflammation and raises mental acuity. Television is a wonderful thing. Unfortunately it has been commandeered for the nefarious purposes of marketing, political propaganda and mind control. To reduce stress, many physicians advise a “TV news fast.” Not only is all mainstream media information edited, selectively focused and spun into a web of deception, the entire experience has created an artificial narrative; a journalistic dictatorship, if you will, run purely for the benefit of the industrial complex. One is repetitively bombarded with disturbing audio and flashing high-speed cuts rife with fear/envy/greed messages as he is presented with a narrative that contradicts reality causing what could be called “media induced schizophrenia.” Best bet; be aware of the process or avoid it altogether.

Lifestyle… Exercise/activity, sunbathing, cooking, dining, recreating in nature, fishing, etc… A refined repertoire of positive habits and life skills raise health to higher realms.

Human Touch, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture… A loving human touch synergizes bioenergy fields, making both stronger. Chiropractic can manipulate a subluxed Atlas to restore voltage/nerve flow in cranial nerves just as acupuncture restores power to one’s grid of electric meridians. Life is electrical and flowing electrons generate magnetic fields.

Community and supportive social interaction… Many studies correlate loneliness with heart disease and cancer. Humans are social beings. Peer-shaming once meant an individual faced expulsion from the tribe and certain death; surefire sympathetic activation. Conversely, copacetic relationships implied belonging, food, survival and parasympathetic strengthening. PTSD may have an autonomic component. Many veterans feel a severe sense of loss after being separated from their band of brothers and wish they were back in the army. Support groups emphasize group recreation in nature; a win/win for parasympathetic activation.

Sense of Purpose… One can chart a course through life and take the helm…or simply drift like seaweed on the tide. Feeling “out of control” is a chief source of anxiety. My purpose is to share hard won practical knowledge in order to prevent and alleviate needless human suffering and further damage to our environment. I want to educate the public and thinking physicians. I want to live in a better healthier world unlike the world today that seems bent on self destruction. Yours?

Prayer/meditation/laughter… Whether or not one believes in divine intervention, an extreme parasympathetic shift is involved when the mind is calmed and cleared of fear. Healing hormones are released as inflammation gives way to enhanced genetic expression and immune strength. Undeniable anecdotal evidence of spontaneous remissions have accumulated for over two thousand years. Reversals of late stage cancers through comedy alone should show; “there’s more here than meets the eye.”

Substances… Everything from ginseng, green tea, turmeric, chamomile, kava, Vitamins B and C to alcohol, opiates, nicotine and cannabis hold claims to stress/pain reduction that allow parasympathetic domination. Stress and pain definitely light up sympathetic pathways making healing difficult or impossible. With economic distress at an all time high, many are caught in a cycle of anti-depressant/anti-anxiety pharmaceuticals. Others are lost in addictions to electronic games and phones, gambling, pornography-masturbation or ride a self-medicating merry-go-round of alcohol and opiates with dire consequences. Recently, in the ongoing debate over medical marijuana, one physician observed that the healing properties of cannabinoids and THC in particular heal by reducing pain and by replacing stress and anxiety with euphoria thereby promoting parasympathetic activation. Since polyphenols like curcumin and resveratrol also attach to endocannabinoid receptors and promote neuro-healing and regeneration, a fresh perspective beckons.

Unconditional Love… This state of consciousness, beyond the reach of the fearful selfish ego flows from the higher spiritual mind..detached from all earthly cares and woes. It resides not in the past or future or preoccupation with death, but in an ever present present. It lacks energy robbing tension and so provides limitless power through its relaxed softness. The journey of all souls is a journey toward happiness and enlightenment…toward becoming light. One can monitor his ego by observing his daily reactions to life. Are they selfish, forceful and insensitive or kind, sharing and altruistic? This is mindfulness and leads to blissful thoughtless being and fulfillment. “Be as a little child.”

Instead of trying to rule out the placebo effect as drug studies always do, the idea should be to embrace it as a powerful pathway to healing that has always existed, albeit cloaked in the gray area of consciousness. When dietary correction, supplements and detoxification are slow to produce results, particularly in worried frightened individuals; shift the autonomic balance toward the parasympathetic. Start with a joke and continue down the list until big healthy smiles shine all around.
